Laboratorio Internazionale della Comunicazione is a summer intensive workshop that thakes place in Gemona del Friuli every summer. Almost 100 students from all over the world gather for three weeks in Gemona to improve their knowledge about Italian culture, history and literature. Together with the theory classes, they are invited to take part to a laboratory -”Bottega”-of creativity. Among others, since 2012, there is the street-art bottega which has been thought by the vice-president of BRAVI RAGAZZI Elia Venturini. The students learned the techniques of street-art and as a result, last year they realized a graffiti on a wall in a park located in the center of the city. The drawing represents the flags of the different countries the students, taking part to the bottega, were from.
In Summer 2013, Elia Venturini will again teach to new students how to be creative with this art technique. For more information visit www.labonline.it.
In November 2011, BRAVI RAGAZZI together with AZIENDA PER I SERVIZI SANITARI N. 3 ALTO FRIULI (C.S.R.E.), organized “ART ATTAK”, a experimental workshop of urban creativity. The external wall of the social-educational and rehabilitation center was painted with by the guests of the center. The excellent success and enthusiasm of the initiative led to a bigger project called “ELEMENTI IN ACTION”.
The project consists in getting to know the concept of “action” as a fundamental element in the artistic discipline Graffiti-Writing when dealing with appropriation of urban and public spaces.
ELEMENTI IN AZIONE is divided in several and consequential phases.
The first phase called “io giornalista vero”- me, authentic reporter- consisted in a reportage with subject “graffiti’ which later was developing in a possible interview with some of the artists invited to ELEMENTI SOTTERRANEI. This phase took place between February and June 2012.
The last phase involved the guests of C.S.R.E. working directly on the field. Their job consisted in painting in white the walls along the tracks of the railway, preparing them to be decorated by the artists of ELEMENTI SOTTERRANEI. This project allowed the participants to get in touch with new people and create new connections between the C.S.R.E. And the locals.
Do the Writing!
The Italian Minister of Youth, the Rt.Hon. Giorgia Meloni, together with INWARD and several actors of Italian urban creativity, gave life to an international sensitivisation campaign, called Do the Writing!, whose main goal is to tackle urban vandalism and damage to the Italian artistic legacy and urban features, promoting a suitable and legal expression of writing, graffiti, street art, muralism and urban design. This will help tackling urban decay effectively and promoting youth creativity at the same time.
Another goal of the campaign is to help understanding the phenomenon of urban creativity, completely bereft of the vandalism connotations usually associated with graffiti and the like, as an invaluable opportunity for youth aggregation at the national level, with the help of hundreds of friends, supporters, promoters and testimonials.
